Chalked snowflakes

Well surprise surprise, there was no gardening done today ... It was a bit damp and a bit cold and I was a bit couldn't be bothered! So I had a play with my craft stash instead :)

I was inspired by Kathy's stencil card for Day 13 of her colouring challenge.  I die cut a couple of Paper Smooches snowflakes and used the negative for my stencil.  I don't have any coloured inks, so I used dark blue, light blue and purple chalks instead.  Took a while, but I love how it turned out!  Images and sentiment from My Favourite Things - coloured with watercolour pencils.  Clear gloss and glitter added to Santa's hat and pressie ribbon.  Santa and sentiment both popped up on dimensionals.

  3. I love your beautiful chalked background, Lynne. I have found that I often prefer the look of chalks over inks. They're so much more delicate. I spray mine with a finishing spray so they don't rub off. Do you do that as well? Your image is beautifully colored once again. You're a master with those watercolor pencils!

Happy St. Patrick's Day! My hubby went off to work sporting a green shirt.....being that he came from a long line of Irishmen.
