Some cheerful tulips

It was such a dull damp day today, but my daffodils are blooming, so I thought I'd go for a spring theme with this card.  I'm on a bit of a Penny Black run by the look of it!  This one is soooooo old, it's great that it still sees ink!

My card is based on this week's Featured Stamper at Splitcoast - Here is Beverley Sue's original.  I was inspired by her pot of flowers and brick effect base.  I thought my flowers would look 'jaunty' stamped off the edge, but my card-making-OCD wishes I'd stamped it in the centre ;)   Coloured with watercolour pencils and sparkle added to the tulips.

  5. Your card is so pretty--perfect for this time of year (as a happy omen of Spring). I tend to be OCD, too, and would've centered the vase...lol

  6. I think your vase looks great in its off-the-edge position. The only thing I might have done a little differently is to add a little something in the upper left-hand corner to balance it a bit (that's MY OCD making itself known). Your coloring is beautiful! Love the shading on the tulips.

  9. The jaunty, off the edge image was what caught my eye right off the top. I like CAS feel in keeping the focal image to the right; then the flower pot & greeting compliment each other without overpowering one or the other. I'm totally admiring your colouring technique. Beautiful! tfs

  13. Lovely colouring on the tulips, Lynne. A perfect spring card - the crocuses have started to bloom so hopefully the tulips won't be far behind.
