Bunny Bookmark

It's reminder time over at Naughty or Nice - this month's theme is to feature a creature.  There's a fab prize from Bugaboo up for grabs too.

I've made a new bookmark with this bunny set that I won recently from Simon Says Stamp.  It's based on  Peeps that Americans eat at Easter - they taste like marshmallows with a very sugary coating :)

I don't have a bookmark shaped die, so partially cut a tag die, moved it down to create a longer shape and cut again.  Of course I didn't get it quite right, thus the die cut squiggle was needed to cover a slightly snipped card ;)

I used my distress ink pad to stamp the BG bunny and then to add some splatters.  Tiny bunny covered with my clear sparkle pen, and then I thought I should cover him in clear gloss too in case the sparkle would come off in my library book!  White enamel dots to finish and an eyelet for my ribbon (couldn't tell you the last time I used one of these!)

Santa and Mrs Claus and some Tags

Merry Christmas!  My last Christmas card of the season, as always, belongs to Greg!  When I make his, I know for sure that I'm finished!

This one uses this lovely image from Eat Cake Graphics - Santa and Mrs. Claus
Coloured with watercolour pencils.  Sparkle added to Santa's fur trims (though I've just noticed I forgot to do his boots!).  Simon Says sentiment die; Paper Smooches snowflakes dies.  I've no particular reason why they're standing in front of a wall - other than it was a new stencil and I was dying to use it ;)
And here's my gift tags made with another Eat Cake Graphics stamp:
I added some clear gloss and lots of glitter to the stripy edge and to Santa's specs, so there's lots of the regulation Christmas sparkle ;)

My stamp record

No card from me tonight, but for Day 4 of the Daily Marker challenge  I thought I'd share my stamp record that I've been colouring.  I'm on the Eat Cake Graphics design team, so I keep a wee book and stamp all my images in it.  Best idea I ever had ... it just makes it so easy to have a quick scan to see which stamp I fancy using! I normally write down the name of the stamp, but haven't quite got round to it on these pages.  These are all coloured just with ordinary pencils.  (looks brighter in real life but I was too lazy to get out my daylight lamp and take a proper pic!)

Xmas tags

Just a quickie post ... there's a beer in the fridge with my name on it ;)

For these tags I used my MFT Santa set.  On the first I added some white enamel dots for snow; on both I added lots of stickles to their hats and ribbon on the pressie.  Clear gloss added to the belts and shoes.  I haven't added any ribbon until I see what colour my wrapping paper is.

Baby Tags

This was a new request for me ... to make a set of tags for a mum-to-be's bags for hospital.  One was for the Mum, one for the baby, and I can't remember what the other bag was for but I was asked to put a stork on it!  I guess it's a kind of "before, during and after" story!

The image of the baby is a Lili of the Valley stamp, and the two outer ones are super-old ones from Shirley's Two Girls that I haven't used in such a long time.  All coloured with watercolour pencils.  Clear gems added to the flowers on Mum's dress tag; glitter added to alternate stripes on the baby blanket on the stork tag.  Taylored Expressions tag dies.

High Hopes Tag - Carolling Frosty

Our new challenge at High Hopes is to
Button Up
Play along with your High Hopes stamps for the chance to win a new one of your choice.

Buttons aren't my strong point - I have a wee box that rarely gets added too and never gets any emptier ;)
My image is Carolling Frosty - coloured with watercolour pencils and partially popped up on dimensionals (the bottom part is stuck flat, and then his hat / raised hand is popped up).  Old silver peel off sentiment sticker from stash.  Clear gloss added to his nose and to the candle flame.

Bookworm Bookmark

While I had my tag dies out, I thought I'd try something new and make a wee back-to-school bookmark using the partial die cutting technique.  It's dead easy, I'll give this a go again :)
Here's a link to the tutorial on Splitcoaststampers

Dog Dog Doggy

Just a quickie post from me ... Dirty Dancing is on the telly :)  Most people watch the movie before they go to see the stage show, not me - I hadn't seen it for years!

Whipper Snapper image - coloured with pencils and stickles added to their collars and noses for some sparkle.  Sentiment from Lili of the Valley.

This card was inspired by the sketch over at MFT Wednesday Sketch Club MFTWSC188

Snowy Tags

Just a quickie post tonight ... I had a wee day off work and had a crafting marathon to get my own Christmas cards made, my Mum's birthday card (sorry can't share here!!) and a Christening card.  Phew!  Oh and I put the finishing touches to these little dudes too .... Snowy Tag from High Hopes.
Coloured with pencils and a sparkly silver gel pen, and a wee bit of red stickles to finish.

Pink Xmas

I think this Memory Box die is my favourite Xmas die of the season!  I love the simplicity of it, matched with this super old DP from my stash.  The snowflake is also an oldie Marianne Design die and the sentiment is from an old Stampin' Up set.

I also made a wee matching tag, using dies from Taylored Expressions.

Sorry I've been MIA all week - I've a stinkin' head cold and have misplaced my mojo :(

Anyway, our new challenge at High Hopes is
Fancy Folds
Play along with your High Hopes stamps to win a new one of your choice :)

I used my 'fancy folds' to make a corner bookmark ... you'll find a simple tutorial on SCS here.
My image is Snowy Tag - I just masked off his shoulders, coloured with copics and added some red glitter for a bit of bling.  A nice easy wee giftie to put in with someone's Christmas card :)

High Hopes challenge #189

Our new challenge this week at High Hopes is...
make a box.
Not something I normally make, so I turned to Splitcoaststampers and tried my hand at a little milk carton box.  I'm quite pleased with how it turned out - though a decent scoring board would have made it much easier than trying to match up dimensions on my ancient wooden scoring board!  I've temporarily closed my carton with a paperclip so you can see the shape, but didn't want to seal it properly until I'd something to put in it!!

My image is Motorin' By Santa - coloured with pencils and lots of glitter added to the fur on his hat/jacket/trousers.

ETA - just found this joke that I had to share ...
What type of motorbike does Santa drive?
A Holly Davidson
Hahahahaha!  Def one for the Christmas Cracker!

October Calendar

I just noticed today that my calendar on my desk in work was still on July.  Ha!  I think I'm in denial that our lovely summer's over!

Just a quickie post, Doc Martin's on the telly, a nice wee Monday evening programme.  As opposed to Downton Abbey, usually a lovely Sunday evening programme, but a bit traumatic last night.  I won't spoil it if you haven't seen it, but O-M-G!!!!!

High Hopes Sneaky Peek Day 2

Day 2 of our sneaky peeks of High Hopes new Christmas Fun release, and today I'm delighted to show you this little tag!  How sweet is little "Snowy Tag"!  Guess what's gonna be on all my Christmas pressies this year :)
Coloured with Copic markers.

We're combining today's sneaky peeks with our new challenge ...
your favourite embellishment
Mine is baker's twine (I really don't know how I managed before I got my inky paws on this - sometimes I have to actually stop myself using this on every card I make!) and a bit of bling always goes down well with me too.  Oh before you ask, NO I haven't got my pressies bought and wrapped and I don't think you'd really want this 'fake' present anyway ... a box of dried lasagne sheets from our larder!
Play along with the challenge at High Hopes blog, and join us tomorrow for more sneak peeks and a blog hop with the chance to win some new rubbah :)

My first gift tag!

I've never made a proper gift tag before, but won these dies a while back and thought I'd better get them out.  I'd bought this wee memo holder for my SIL's birthday so made the tag to match ... the stamp was another one 'found' during my craft tidy up!  Happy Birthday Andrea!  We both share the same birthday ... except I'm giving her 5 years ;)  I've no big plans for today, just out and about with Greg and Ruby-doo, and some drinkies with friends later.

May Calendar

This is next month's page for my desk calendar in work.  Its not unknown to have 'one of those days' and I thought this would give me a laugh and remind me that there is bigger things in life to worry about!!
These stamps are oldies ... the kitty and sentiment are from Eat Cake Graphics (I think!), and the sun is from High Hopes.  Popped the cat and sun up on dimensionals and added googly eyes to the sun. Chalked sky.

Washi Chick

Well we got our snow ... the weather men had been sooooo excited about it, and I think we got maybe 2 inches!  It was blowing a blizzard last night, and then this morning the snow was all slushy and wet ... so still no snowman here LOL!  I see it's snowing again, so maybe tomorrow :)

Simon Says Stamp challenge this week is to use washi tape.  I bought some just recently but hadn't got round to using it, so this was the perfect excuse.  Not sure of the make of this oldie stamp, possibly Whipper Snapper - added clear gloss to the red bits.  Silver peel off sentiment and old circles embossing folder.

Layout inspired by MFT Wednesday Sketch Club MFTWSC107 - I found this a really challenging sketch, and my first effort is now in my scraps pile!
Simon Says ... use washi tape
Totally Papercrafts - It's embossing time
Charisma Cardz #2 - punch it (Corner and flower punches)

Xmas Tags

I made a load of these Christmas tags with these cute images from CC Designs.  Couldn't get a decent pic though with the shine off my lovely wrapping paper!!

I just stamped my images, coloured with copics / promarkers, rounded the top corners and added a bit of washi tape to the bottom.  Simple and super quick! (... I made 4 of these in under 20 minutes!)

Anything High Hopes!

It's a nice easy challenge this week at High Hopes ...
Anything High Hopes!
So no excuses not to get your High Hopes stamps out and play along for a chance to win a new stamp of your choice!

I bought this bottle for my friend's birthday, so thought I'd have a go at making a fancy bottle tag .... look at me, getting all adventurous in my old age :)
By the way, my friend loved her bottle tag and put in a request for 7 more of the same :o)

I've used Drink Lemonade (but I think my friend would much rather have a wee drink of vodka and coke LOL) and teamed it with the alphabet from Paper Smooches.
I've also another first for me on this tag ... washi tape.  I think I'm gonna need a whole pile more of these, I love it!!

What's in the box??

Our new challenge at High Hopes this week is to make
A Gift Card Holder
or Gift Box
If you've been over to their blog recently you'll see that Aaemie had a fab tutorial last week on how to make a treat box, and it's easy peasy (trust me, if I can make one, anyone can LOL!)
My box is slightly bigger, and I didn't have a piece of card big enough to make a flip lid like Aaemie's, so I just made a regular box.

My box uses Christmas Treat from High Hopes - coloured with copics and some fluffy stuff added as fur.  Marianne Design snowflake and poinsettia dies, Memory Box border.

And inside my box ....?

A set of cards as a pressie for my doggy-lovin friend.
BTW, the card at the top is another High Hopes stamp - Heidi and Mattie
