Not a Teacher card hahahaha

A wee break from all the Teacher appreciation cards I've been making!  I've had this one in mind since I saw the new Muse challenge #23 - here's Anita's original:
All stamps from Paper Smooches - pink birdie popped up on dimensionals.
Creative Card Crew #39 - no designer papers
Charisma Cardz #24 - pink and green
Crafty Catz #188 - pick'n mix - anything goes
Bunny Zoe's crafts June challenge - wings

And yet another Teacher card!

This week's challenge at High Hopes is
Lots of Layers
My card is clean and simple, but at the point of the flower there are 5 layers, 6 if you count the flower, so it shows that you can still add lots of layers without adding weight and bulk to your card.  (you need to use your High Hopes stamps to play along and you could win a new one of your choice)

I love this School Girl image from High Hopes - I think it's great that you can personalise her uniform to suit - this teacher's school uniform is a yellow shirt, blue jumper and grey skirt.  Mrs McVeigh won't get another card like this LOL!
Just wish I'd stamped my sentiment better - I started from the bottom up, instead of the top down, so kinda ran out of room to get my spacing right :(

Another Teacher card

Another card for a teaching assistant, this time inspired by Tina, this week's featured stamper at Splitcoast.  Here's Tina's original - I kept the thank you theme and basic layout, but didn't do any embossing and had intended to have a different strip down the right side, but completely forgot.

All stamps from Paper Smooches, no real colouring required!

Simon Says ... summer fruits  (though would apples be classed as an autumn fruit??)

Teacher Thank You card

After my cardmaking bonanza last week my mojo's been missing all week, and I'm not convinced he's back yet!  Maybe it's our 'lovely weather' ... we'd a great day today if you fancied a bit of kite flying with your wellies on LOL!

This card is for a teaching assistant, using Mouse Tales from High Hopes.  Coloured with pencils and lots of bling added to my butterflies - I'd started off with just the 3 top butterflies and then decided the bottom bit needed 'something'.

Boys and their bikes

Sorry, its been blogger overload here this past week!  Thankfully most of my special orders have been completed (except I got another request for 3 teacher cards today, great to be so popular, but boy do I hate making specific cards!!)

This is a wee quickie card, inspired by Sue's card here - this week's Featured Stamper over at SCS.  I used the same image but changed the colour theme and embellishments.

Apples for Teacher

Another special request card, this time for a teacher.  And what better for a teacher than a row of nice juicy apples!
My gingham apple was inspired by a card I saw in blogland this morning, but I can't remember where I saw it (if it was you, let me know and I'll give you the credit!)
3 of the little apples are popped up on dimensionals and red stickles added to the wee hearts.

Starring Ruby-dooby-doo!

This is one of those stamps that I bought 'cause it had a Ruby on it LOL
Super dooper quick card - the only thing that took any time at all was cutting out the wee squares!  I tried to keep embellishments to a minimum so that it would be OK as a masculine card.  Doodled some faux stitching round border.

40th Anniversary Card

I mostly don't like making specially commissioned cards as my brain just flatlines, and I'm even worse when it comes to lovey-dovey cards!  This one's for the wife of a colleague - I know it should have had some Ruby red in it somewhere but I don't have any nice reddy coloured DP.  I also misjudged the layout - if I'd measured it properly it would have been more balanced, bit too much space at the bottom and I couldn't find anything suitable in my stash to stick in it!  Ah well, I'm not overly happy, but it will have to do!

My first gift tag!

I've never made a proper gift tag before, but won these dies a while back and thought I'd better get them out.  I'd bought this wee memo holder for my SIL's birthday so made the tag to match ... the stamp was another one 'found' during my craft tidy up!  Happy Birthday Andrea!  We both share the same birthday ... except I'm giving her 5 years ;)  I've no big plans for today, just out and about with Greg and Ruby-doo, and some drinkies with friends later.

Flying Kitty

I've discovered lots of cute stamps when I was having a root round my stash / tidy up today and am determined to use them more!  This one's another old Penny Black stamp - coloured with pencils and balloon paper pieced. Dotty background round image done with grey marker instead of usual blue so that it tied in with my colour theme better.

Card for Rafika

This card is for a girl in work who's leaving for a new job in London.  I'd been wrecking my head for ages trying to think of what to put on her card, and when I had a root through my stash and came across this old Penny Black image I knew it was perfect - she's such a fun, happy-go-lucky person and loves all her brightly coloured clothes, and I wouldn't be surprised at all if she really does have a pair of bright pink bunny slippers!  I kinda wish I'd done her name in a less harsh colour though, don't think it looks quite right here.  (in case you're wondering about her name, her Dad is from Ghana - I'd never heard it before)

Summer Time Patti

It's a Summer time challenge at High Hopes this week, very appropriate for our weather here (for a change LOL!)
I've used Beach Girl Patti and Fillable Beach Scene.   Though little Patti has turned out a bit pink - she needs to use a higher factor suncream me thinks.  Patti is popped up on dimensionals and clear gloss added to her diving accessories and ring.  Little anchor charm from stash.

Thank you Teacher

I was asked to make a card for a teacher and I thought this wee School Girl from High Hopes would be perfect.  I've coloured her in the school colours of a green jumper and grey skirt, and the little girl giving the card has blond hair ... don't think Teacher will get another one so personalised LOL!
In the top left corner is a little pencil button from a recent candy win, how cute is that!!

Oh, and if you've never been to Northern Ireland here's a pic of what you're missing.... (contrary to everything you read on my blog, it's not ALWAYS raining )  We went out for fish'n'chips earlier and ended up going for a scoot up round the North Coast!  It certainly tastes nicer eating them at the seaside, and the ice cream for afters was just as delish.  (not a very Slimming World friendly day though!!)  (This pic taken from Waterfoot)

A purrfect kitty

I haven't entered the 10 minute dash for ages, so thought I'd have a go this evening and combine it with the Paper Smooches SPARKS sketch challenge.  Card time - 9 mins 14 secs.  It looks more complicated than it actually is as most of the shapes are die cuts and there's virtually no colouring in it.

Too hot for little doggies!

8-)Well Summer finally arrived, it's been scorchio all week!  Hateful when you're stuck in work but I've all of next week off so finger's crossed for a few more nice days :)

Ruby LOVES the warm weather and spends most of the day out baking in the sun and then taking refuge in the shade.  She'll be glad to get her hair cut next week, I'm sure it's HOT in there!

This card is for a friend of mine who runs a doggy charity which is celebrating their 25th year.  It's not wonky in real life (I think!), just a wonky photo!  Image from High Hopes: Watson - coloured with pencils.  I'm lovin this flower die set from CC Designs, the flowers are just the right size for me.

My card uses this cute Writing Mouse - isn't he a sweetie!  (He'd make a great card for a teacher too!)

Andrea's birthday card

This card is for my SIL.  She also makes cards, so it's always a pressure to try and make her a nice one that she hasn't seen before!  She loves a party and is a great gardener, so hopefully she likes it.

Wine and cake!

Just a quickie post from me tonight - still recovering after a wedding we went to yesterday!  Though it was a lovely day - the bride was stunning and groom very handsome, great food, and good craic!
But how come it takes weeks of planning for a woman to go to a wedding (finding a dress, accessories, manicure, hairdo, etc, etc) and a man just has to polish his shoes????

I finally got my hands on one of these fabulous Uptown Girls stamps, and I love it.  Coloured with pencils and sparkle added to the frills on their dresses and to the cupcake topping but doesn't really show up in pic.
