Some fishy cards for David & Greg

Hi all, here this blustery evening with a few fish themed cards. This first one is for my brother - he keeps tropical fish so I thought these dudes from Simply Graphic would do the trick.  I stencilled in some bubbles using my snow stencil and added some metallic silver splatters too.

Layout from AAA Cards #258
My Time to Craft #526 hobbies
Allsorts #766 - from the grid I've used stencil / red / green

And this is Greg's card ... I hadn't realised my stencilling was so wonky until I took the photo

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday - anything goes
Addicted to Stamps #460 - dies / stencil (sorry I can't remember the brand name of either)

For Greg's birthday I treated myself to a couple of days off work (let's face it, any excuse is a good one 😉).  Here's a wee photo of beautiful Ballycastle on a day out - the waves were so rough I could have watched them for hours.  Unfortunately it was blowing a gale and we had an urgent date at the local chippy LOL

Faffing Crafting

Hi all, and Happy St Patrick's Day!  No drowning the shamrock for me, I was out weeding instead LOL!  We get the day off work so I just had to book tomorrow as well, so a nice loooong weekend ahead AND it's supposed to be sunny for the next few days too, yippee!  It would have been great craic to be in Dublin for the parade,  I'd say it would be fun trying to get served at the bar though!

I've been struggling with my mojo recently so it's been a bit of a battle making these!  This first one was an absolute faff, it started much simpler but then I decided to add the die cuts behind the plants, got them prised off (and ripped half the purple panel in the process), and then the little butterflies and sequins appeared next.  I'm still not 100% thrilled with it, but it's better than it was!

Believe it or not, my layout was inspired by this sketch from Try Stamping on Tuesday #546, but I maybe got a bit lost!

Addicted to Stamps #425- dies +/or stencils

Daisy Chain #61 - use dies

This Christmas card was another faffing session... that black panel was originally silver, and then white before I could decide what I was doing!  Snowdude from Simon Says Stamp and I think the DP is from MFT.

Layout from Tuesday Morning Sketches #648

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday - Favourite things - I've used a few favourites here, my snowpeople set, the lovely DP and that fab snowflake!

Pupdate...

Miss Molly has had a busy time recently.  She was in for a wee op a couple of weeks ago but is back to 100% fitness and 100% naughtiness!  She's also been in for her first puppy grooming session since this pic was taken so she can see out now LOL

Birthday foliage

Hi all, popping in this evening with a wee simple card, can't say it was quick though as I excel at faffing!!  I've been on a wee shopping trip to France (would have been even nicer in real life LOL) and bought this pretty little cover plate and stamps from Simply Graphic. I also caved in for a set of tags dies, but they're for another day.

I flipped the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches #523

Seize the Birthday #233 - dichromatic (not a word I've ever heard before!). I went with pink and green.

Watercolour Wednesday #335 - it's their last challenge so had to play along

Allsorts #663 - CAS with option of elegance

We're battening down the hatches here this evening for Storm Eunice due later.  It's all quiet at the minute though, there's barely even a rustle in the trees, you definitely wouldn't think there was a storm on the way!

Big Wishes

Hi All!  Happy Sunday!  We've had the loveliest sunny day today and more due for most of the week yippee, unfortunately I'll be working away looking out at it Boo!  Maybe I should relocate my laptop to the garden 😉

I bought this swirly stamp from Simply Graphic a couple of months ago and have been waiting for inspiration to strike, thankfully the sketch from AAA Cards did the trick!

I masked off my stamp, embossed in white and then inked up the background.  My whale is an oldie from MFT - I sometimes struggle with MFTs sentiments so used this one from another set.  It didn't look 'finished' until I added the grey semicircle, I guess that's the rule of '3' for you!  (though I'm not 100% positive that's the right spot for my sentiment)

Sketch from AAA Cards #193

Sea/ whale theme from The Card Concept #158, and the colour from the inside of the mug was the exact match to my new ink pad 😁

A shoal of fish and some mice

Hi all!  Happy Sunday and Happy Bank Holiday Monday too!  I love a wee free day off work even if it is due to be a stormy wet day.  Don't think I'll venture out as the shops will be too busy after only opening on Friday, I think I'll hold off till I get my 2nd jab next month.  At least I'm a bit more respectable looking after my haircut this week, I feel like a new woman! 😊

This card uses my new stamps and dies from Simply Graphic;  I found this really old DP that was perfect for it.  I've added some glitter to highlights on the fishes for a bit of sparkle.

I had a tiny bit of this striped DP left over, but it was just enough for what I needed.  I saw someone in blogland doing their sentiment like this, so I can't take the credit for it, but I love the effect!  Mice coloured with watercolour pencils.

A critters twofer!

Hi all!  We've had a lovely spell of sunny Spring weather these past few days - I even got a few pots planted up and a few of the weeds tackled.  Great to see it!  Though I'm just back from a walk and it would have foundered you, such a cold cold wind, I needn't put the winter coats away yet!

My cards today use some of my new goodies from Simply Graphic, a new-to-me French store.  And no, I'd no customs charges so I reckon there will be a repeat visit after payday ;)  I'm loving my new critters, though I've just noticed the dog looks kinda sad compared to the kitty!

This one's a more masculine version - I must have had my wonky eyes in when I stuck the panel on, it's so crooked!  I've used some black glitter card for the narrow strip and a couple of the stars, doesn't really show in the pic.
