More Easter bunnies

Hi all!  I'm back with another few Easter cards this evening, still have another few to make but it could be chancy if they all arrive in time!  This stamp from High Hopes is a real old oldie from my stash but still one of my faves.  My own tulips are almost blooming - we had a lovely day of sunshine today so hopefully that will bring them on.

Bunny popped up on foam pads and I added clear gloss to the tulips and some chunky glitter to his tail.

Your Next Stamp #160 - I used the pink/grey colour theme from the inspiration pic
Cut   it up #222 - spring flowers and butterflies

And here's another the same but different for my uncle!  I punched out a grass edge on my fancy DP but it's got a bit lost and probably wasn't worth the bother!

Bunnies!

Hi all!  Oooh it's as dark as night here and the wind has gotten up, looks like we're in for a splash of rain!  I can hardly believe that it's almost that time of year for the clocks to go forward, seems like no time since they went back!  But then every day is like Groundhog Day and they all kinda merge together, I think this entire past year I've hardly known what day it is any day!  Except the weekend, I haven't made that mistake yet LOL

Anyways, I've a few quickie Easter cards this evening...

I've used a real oldie for these - from Shirley's 2 Girls - it's at least 10 years old so it's good to give it an inking again!  Double bonus points for me for using up this DP which has been knocking round my stash for quite a while too!  I think I prefer this 2nd one with the stronger colour

I spy with my little eye something beginning with C

Hi all!  Sunday evening already, I've had a few days off work and had a lovely time faffing about and putting my time in rightly!  A bit of gardening, a bit of housework, walks in our local park and Lough shore, and the sun even shone today when I was out doing a bit of fence painting!

Anyways, you might spot a few cats on my blog today...

The lovely Di at Pixie's Snippets Playground's challenge today is in memory of our beloved Rubydoo.  Hope you'll play along, all you need to do to join in is to use up a scrap of paper on your card, easy peasy!

I spotted this stamp from Kwan Crafts after seeing it on Cindy's lovely blog (Stamps, paper & ink) - a couple of the eyes don't stamp right but they're easy enough drawn in.  The floral kitty is popped up on foam pads and I added gloss and glitter to his flowers.  My card just didn't look finished, but I had a scrap of red card left that was just big enough to partially cut some circles and a bit of a scalloped edge and I think that's it done now 😁

And here's the same stamps again, thought I'd join the slimline card bandwagon, but a DL envelope was the slimmest one in my stash 😉  This time I glossed/glittered elements on all the kitties.

I should have done my middle hill a slightly different shade of green.  I had thought the embossing would work, maybe I should have left the outer hills plain and just embossed the central none. Ah well, too late now!

I stencilled in some clouds and then also used my sunburst stencil as it looked a bit bare.

And finally, here's a wee pic of a few of the daffodils at our park.  They are even more fabulous this year than usual, must have been our nice damp winter!

Happy St Patrick's Day!

Hi all and a very happy St Patrick's Day to you!  We had a beautiful sunny spring day, made even better by a free day off work and I have the rest of the week booked off too, yippeeeee!  Just a shame that everywhere is shut and there's nowhere to go!   Ah well, it was still lovely to get my washing all done, dried on the line AND bonus points to me for ironing it all too ... I must be one of the few left who irons everything!!

I had bought this Colorado Crafts stamp to use as a 'good luck' one, but figured I'd make a St Paddys card for my mum, plus another couple for my Canadian aunts ... didn't bother with any of the Irish crew LOL.

Happy Mother's Day

Hi folks, and a happy Mother's Day to all you mums out there.  I've always wondered why it's on a different date in the US, when we all agree on the same date for Father's Day?

This is my card for my mum, a bit different to my usual and it looked different in my head, but I'm happy with how it turned out!   My butterflies are from a new to me brand - Kwan Crafts.  I got some dimension to them by gluing them down at the centre and adding foam pads to their wings.  I've also highlighted parts of each butterfly with gloss and glitter so there's lots of sparkle.   I stencilled some bricks and then some words in the background but it all got a bit lost anyway so I needn't have bothered 😉

This one was inspired by Kristina's beautiful card and tutorial:. https://www.kwernerdesign.com/blog/live-replay-underpainting-watercolor-technique/

A watercoloured background isn't one I'd do often as it's a bit of a faff waiting for it to dry properly and I could have been braver and went a bit darker with my colours, but I love how it turned out and I'll definitely give this technique a go again.

Chicken line up

Hi folks, hope you are all well!  It's a brrrrr chilly kinda day here, snow on the top of the mountains and a wind that would cut you in two, definitely not an outdoorsy type of day!  Hoping for an improvement next week as I've a few days booked off work.

Anyway, it's just a wee silly card from me today, using these fab chickens from Gerda Steiner, I love how they all have such different expressions.

  • Sparkles monthly challenge #137 - on the farm
  • Gerda Steiner monthly challenge - March
  • As You Like It - favourite way to cut your image - mine is fussy cutting for the simple reason that I'd rather spend my ££'s on more stamps than the matching die!  I invested ages ago in some Tim Holtz scissors and they were definitely a good purchase, though Greg gets 'the look' if he dares use them for something other than cutting a bit of paper 😉

Bunnies and zebras!

Hi All  😁 I'm celebrating the return of my mojo with not one but two cards this evening!  I've been mostly CASEing other folks cards this past few weeks so it's nice to have a bit of my own spark for a change!

This bunny card was inspired by this week's brilliant challenge pic over at Inspired By (I'd love one of those blankets!)   I doodled in some stripes and various marks on the bunnies and added gloss to yer man's specs and glitter to a few of the coloured bits.  I've never thought of doodling on this image before but I think I'd definitely do it again!

(Mama Elephant stamp; Paper Smooches sentiment)

Also for Cut It Up #220 - black and white and a pop of colour (though my next card would also do for it too!)

Some evenings when there's nothing on telly I just get comfy on the sofa and colour away.  This little guy was done during Marcella which really did my head my head in so I was glad to have this to distract me! It makes me so cross that so many of the TV programmes set in Northern Ireland depict us all as total nutters!

(Whipper Snapper stamp; Elizabeth Craft Designs stencil; sentiment die unknown)

Time Out #182 - 7th birthday celebration

Addicted to Stamps #400 - dies and stencils
