Falalalala

Ack I've no mojo at the minute, back to that scary blank card mindset and what to do with it!!  I reckon it's our weather ... we'd some 'summer' last week and it was just too nice to be sitting crafting.  Though we were back to thunderstorms and hailstones yesterday so normal service is resumed haha.  Anyway, my card stash is reasonably healthy for a change so I've gone for Christmas today.

This cutie is from Stamping Bella - coloured with polychromos.  I glossed up his nose, added glitter to his bauble and went over his song sheet with my glitter pen, so it's lovely and sparkly.  Paper Smooches snowflake dies; can't remember the make of the sentiment.

Last Guest post for Simon Says Stamp

I've been guest designing this month for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge  :)

This week's challenge theme is 'Anything goes' and the team are showcasing Stampendous goodies.  Hope you'll play along too.  As usual, they have the best prize in blogland .. a big $50 to spend in store!!

For my card I've used this fun Stampendous Old Goat stamp set. Coloured with polychromo pencils and the goat popped up on foam pads.  The washing line in the set didn't go the width of the card, so I added it in my hand (pity I couldn't draw a straight line haha) and then drew a couple of pegs too.
Clear gloss added to his horns and hooves, and to the pegs.

Card for Deirdre and some Birthday flowers

Oooh we've a hint of summer about the place, yesterday was a gorgeous sunny day and there's rumours of a heatwave heading our way for the end of the week.  We'll see!  Hopefully the weather smartens up a bit for The Open when it hits Portrush next month or the whole world will think it does nothing but rain here haha ;)

This card is for a friend in work, she's a great baker so I had to make one with the biggest cake I could find.
Coloured with polychromos; gloss and glitter added to her crown, shoes and the jam in the cake.  The heart and banner is cut from the silliest little bit of sparkly card, you'd laugh at some of the tiny snips I put back in my pile!

This one uses an oldie stamp from Concorde & 9th.  Coloured with polychromos.  The central flower is popped up on foam pads but doesn't show up well on this pic.  I couldn't get a good photo of this card at all in fact - my flower is definitely pinker than you see here and my leaves are greener!

Guest Designing for Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge

I'm Guest Designer over at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge this month :)
This week's challenge theme is 'Vacation' and the team are showcasing Lawn Fawn goodies.  Hope you'll play along too.  As usual, they have the best prize in blogland .. a big $50 to spend in store!!

For my card I've used Lawn Fawn's Aloha stamps.  (there's a set with matching dies if you don't fancy fussy cutting them)

I never drink cocktails at home, but on holiday it's definitely compulsory!  This cool pineapple dude just makes me happy - he doesn't know he's the one for the chop for my Pina Colada haha

I used a honeycomb stencil for my background, added in a few miscellaneous leafy dies and some little flower embellishments and gems.
Image coloured with polychromo pencils and Clear gloss added to his sunnies and gloss/glitter to his 'leafy bit'.  Oh and a few splatters of green paint for good measure!

Get Well bunny

Awww boohoo that's my week off work over, we'd a couple of nice days but mostly it rained between the showers!! We've a busy couple of months ahead in work, so it was nice just to get some time to chill out and relax.

Today I've had my favourite LOTV bunny out, those are supposed to be daffodils but I thought I'd go for more summery colours with my polychromos ;)

Here's a wee pic of Portrush beach from a wee day out, I can't believe how few people are on the beach for a sunny June day!  And only a few hardy kids in wetsuits actually in the ocean!  Though having said that, I wasn't quite brave enough to go for a paddle in that freezing cold water either ;)

Guest Designing for Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge

I'm Guest Designer over at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge this month :)
This week's challenge is to make a Wedding or Anniversary card and the team are showcasing Simon Says Stamp goodies.  Hope you'll play along too.  As usual, they have the best prize in blogland .. a big $50 to spend in store!!

For my card I've used this beautiful Hibiscus frame die, isn't it gorgeous!  This die would work well for any occasion really.

I cut my frame first and then drew a faint pencil line on the card beneath so I knew where to colour with my polychromos.  Then I went over my finished flower with my glitter pen and the sentiment is cut from a little leftover bit of glitter card.  I also added a few clear gems for good measure, so there's LOTS of sparkle on this card!

Anyway, hope you'll play along in the challenge - it's a lucky dip for the winner, so if you're not in you can't win!

Christmas Elves and a Purple sympathy

Sunday evening already but I've a nice week off work ahead of me hurrah! Hoping to get some half decent weather and maybe get a wee day out or two :)

I've been playing with my MFT elves again, I'm so glad I finally gave in and bought them :)  I've used a Christmas text die that I got last year and found impossible use, when all I really needed  to do was to add a little elf and I love how it turned out!
I came across some silver charms recently, and thought they might be nice to use up on a gift tag, so made a matching one too.

This was another MFT purchase from my recent shopping spree.  I absolutely love the finished result, but it's a bit of a faff colouring it in - I've used 3 different purple shades of polychromo pencils and each petal takes 6 layers of colour!  I think maybe I'll give it a rattle with watercolours next time ;)

Guest Designing for Simon Says Stamp!

Wahooo I'm so excited to be this month's Guest Designer over at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge :)  I've been a long time player in their weekly challenges and a long time 'envy-ier' (this may not actually be a real word haha) of the talents of their DT, so I'm thrilled to have my efforts showcased alongside theirs!
So the first challenge up is to make a masculine card and the team are showcasing Tim Holtz goodies.  Hope you'll play along too.  As usual, they have the best prize in blogland .. a big $50 to spend in store!!
I've used this cute puppy from Tim Holtz Crazy Dogs stamps - it would look like our Ruby except this one's white!  She does get the floppy ears though when she's really tired and it's sooo cute!

My stamped pup didn't need much colouring and just some clear gloss on his eyes and nose.  By the way, one of the most useful things I've ever bought from the Simon Says Stamp store was one of these little mini bottles that I decant my big bottle of clear gloss in to.  The gloss never gets jammed up and the nib is perfect for detailed work.  I've had mine for a couple of years now, the wee lid has long since broken off but a blob of blutack does the same job!

Golden hippo

Just a quickie post from me tonight, I've just noticed that I gave my little hippo a lovely manicure but seriously need to sort my own out before work tomorrow!

This was one of my new purchases from Gerda Steiner, Greg says he looks like Penfold (from Dangermouse) and actually he's right LOL
Reckon I had my wonky eyes in when I was taking this picture!

Coloured with polychromos and popped up on foam pads.  Clear gloss added to his eyes, butterfly, heart and toes.  Butterflies are an old Martha Stewart punch. Not sure about hearts die, possibly MFT.

If I don't 'see' you before Wednesday I'll be back then with some exciting news :)

Christmas Elf and June calendar

I can hardly believe it's June already, how'd that happen!!  We've had a rubbish week of weather so it was lovely to get a dry day and get out to tackle some of the weeds!

So what else would I be making to celebrate the first day of summer but a Christmas card LOL.  I've been eyeballing these MFT elves for such a long time, so a wee sale was a good excuse for a purchase ;)
Coloured with polychromos and popped up on foam pads; gloss and glitter added to his hat; Paper Smooches snowflake dies.

And this is Mum's calendar page for the month, actually on time for a change! I bought this little girl for my niece's birthday card last year but I don't think I've used it since.
