Blue Birthday

I've a wee birthday card to share this evening that was 100% inspired by the birthday card my mum gave me.  I rarely use a plain coloured base for my floral cards so thought I'd have a go at making my own version.

First off, this is the card I received...

And here's my version...

My flowers are from Reverse Confetti, coloured with polychromos and an additional flower popped up on foam pads.  I added paint splatters but thought it still needed something so stamped this pretty Catherine Pooler background stamp in grey and think it looks much better.  Butterflies are a Penny Black die.

As You Like It - masculine or feminine - an easy choice for me as 99% of my stamp stash is either cutsie or floral so I tend to struggle with cards for blokes!

I haven't shared a photo of Molly for a while so here she is having a 'picnic' in the garden LOL.  Usually we put her lunch in something more interesting than her bowl and she loves it!

Blooming Birthday

Hi all!  I can't believe it's September already, the summer absolutely flew in.  Mind you this past 18 months have flown too, it's odd when you think back to life pre-Covid and how much things have changed!  You wonder when things will get back to 'normal'!

Anyway, I've a wee quickie this evening.  I confess I've been shopping in an effort to kick start the old mojo, and I'm loving this Bloom set from Reverse Confetti.  I reckon this could become one of my go-to sets for sympathy cards.  I stamped the middle flower twice and glued the centre down and popped little foam pads under the petals to give some dimension.  I had a scrap of purple left over so punched a couple of butterflies and added another couple on the inside.   I like how this turned out 😃

Thank U Bear

Hi all!  Sorry I've been MIA again, I have zero mojo but I have a rake of cards needing made so I need to get the finger out! I'm hoping our good weather will get me going, it has been scorchio here these past few days - we had our highest ever temp in NI yesterday with just over 31 degrees!  We've had no decent rain for ages, we were at a local reservoir last week and it was already well down so we'll be glad of a drop of rain when it arrives.

Anyway on to my card... I've used this little bear and leaf stamps from Reverse Confetti that I think I've only inked up once before ... Why do we buy stamps that "will be really useful" and then don't even use them?!!!  I added a few die cut 'branches' and then stitched elements  (from Simply Graphic) as I had a scrap of the pink paper left - I love how they add a wee bit of interest to a plain space.

Thanks Teacher and Starry Snowdude

I've been such a bad blogger recently, we've been soooo busy in work this past while and I've had zero mojo and zero energy left!  I think we've turned the corner now till after Christmas (hopefully!) so I'll be making a better effort to visit all my buddies x

This first card is a special request for a friend who's son's teacher is leaving.  I've used this sweet little bear from Reverse Confetti - popped up on foam pads and sparkle added to the apples.

Snowman time again!  This time I've tried to give him a night time sky - there's loads of little silver stars in here but they don't really show up well in my pic.

Christmas Elf and a blue bee

I'd an early morning shopping trip to HobbyCraft this morning for the opening of their first store in Northern Ireland.  I turned up about 10 minutes before the store opened and managed to be one of the first 100 customers and got a free goodie bag.  The woman at the front of the queue had been there from silly o'clock, hope she thought her goodies were worth it!   I managed to spend a small fortune and have probably used up my crafty budget for the next few months but I'd expected to come out with my purse a lot lighter than it did.
I got lots of 'essentials' and bought this pack of DP for the sole reason that I reckoned it would suit this MFT elf!

Coloured with polychromos and dog and elf popped up on foam pads.  I need to finish my elf though, I've just noticed that as per usual I haven't coloured his hair.

This one uses the Honey Bear set from Reverse Confetti and a lovely die cut from my buddy  (thank you Cheryl!) - I thought it kinda looked like a wee fence.  I've stamped a pink tree in the background but it doesn't really show up in my pic.  And seeing as my tree was pink I figured there was no reason why my bee couldn't be blue!  LOL

Summer time

We had a damp, cloudy, frizzy hair type of day today, so I thought I'd go looking for summer in my cards instead ;)

I won this Reverse Confetti ice lolly set ages ago and had no clue what to do with it, so this is it's first outing.  I paperpieced the lolly, added another layer for the central bits and then added some clear gloss and lots of glitter. I didn't quite get the layering order right in my layout so added the little arrow as it just didn't look right.
This card will be to send a few €€ to my newphew and niece for their holidays so I'm sure they'll be more interested in what's inside ;)

And here's my Whipper Snapper birdies again, I think this is maybe one of my favourite stamps ever!
Coloured with polychromos to match this pretty DP and gloss/glitter added to their wings.  I had a dirty finger incident in the top corner and needed a major cover up but didn't want to add any yellow so just cut my sun from white card; I like how it turned out :)
