Sympathy Tulips

As usual I've no sympathy cards in my stash, I need to just sit down and make a load of them to get them out of the way!
For this one I've used my lovely tulips from Power Poppy - coloured with polychromos.

Foxglove and a fox

Ooops I've accidentally been shopping again and this cutie from Stamping Bella was one of my purchases.  I've been eyeballing her for a while and just couldn't resist any longer! Unfortunately there's a few others in this set that I will have to resist for another while ;)

Coloured with polychromos, sparkle added to the foxgloves, clear gloss to her wellies and glitter to the leaves in her hat.

This little cutie from Neat & Tangled was the cause of my shopping trip!  Love him!
I need to have a bit of a practice at my colouring though, I reckon he should probably have a more reddish tinge to him.
Coloured with ploychromos and clear gloss added to his eyes and nose.  I masked off my edges and used my sunburst stencil for the background.  Fox popped up on foam pads.  Sentiment added from a different set.

Birthday Duck

Hope everyone is safe and well this evening.  It's just awful seeing the flooding and mess that Storm Dennis caused across the UK.  We've been pretty much unscathed, though I'm sure the rivers are full to the neck.

Here's a wee quickie this evening.  Well, when I say 'quickie' I really mean it took over 2 and a half hours to make (and I'd already coloured the image!)
I had a blue base originally, then added a purple panel, faffed about, added some stencilling, faffed a bit more, added some die cuts, more faffing, and then I threw it in the bin and started again.  At least I had the sense to give up before I'd stuck down my duck!
For this one I simply added some coloured splatters, a few stars and a die cut sentiment, and that was it done!  Now why didn't I do that to start with ;)

Cheery Tulips and a pretty girl

So this weekend we have Storm Dennis visiting, but so far we've gotten away with just a dreary wet old day here.  Poor Rubydoo has hardly had her wee legs outdoors all day.  It's amazing how many sleeping positions she can get in to and always manages to look so comfy!

I had a day of Spring Cleaning, so indulged myself in some colouring this evening.  This lovely tulip set is a newbie from Power Poppy - coloured with polychromos and popped up on foam pads.  I added a couple of layers of sparkle over the tulips but wanted to give them some extra pop so added some clear gloss too.

This one uses an old LOTV stamp, she's a pleasure to colour but I wish I'd placed her a bit more to the right to have more room for my sentiment, it's a bit squished up there in the corner!
I added some glitter to the edge of her mirror and bits and bobs in her makeup bag, and also the string of lights, but its not really showing up well in my photo.

Alexandra's birthday card and some Drinkies

Well it's definitely a weekend for battening down the hatches!  We've Storm Ciara visiting and it's a bit wild outside, but a good evening for getting the heat on and your pencils out!

I was very lucky recently to win one of the challenges over at Simon Says Stamp and I got this little cutie (from Purple Onion Designs) with some of my $$$.  It's for my niece who turns 10 soon, she's not a girly-girl (more into her football!) so that's why there's no pink!
Coloured with polychromos and I added lots of sparkle to the dandelion (?) centre and to her dress ribbon and socks.  I added the sparkly heart as she's a Valentine's Day baby.

For this one I've used an older MFT set - all coloured with polychromos and sparkle added to the drinks.  Gloss/glitter added to the edge of the fruit and the strawberry leaf.
I double mounted the sentiment, not something I do very often but it definitely made it pop a bit more.

A monster birthday wish

Just a quickie post tonight with my brother's birthday card as I need to get it in the post tomorrow.

I've used an old Whipper Snapper stamp - coloured with polychromos, sparkle added to his spines and clear gloss to his eyes and nails.  My circle background is a really old embossing folder, I think it was maybe one of the first ones I bought and it still gets an airing now and then.

Dancing hippos and a big scary lion

It's not very often I make a card that I really REALLY love but this is one of them!  It was  bit of a faff in the making and went through several transitions and colour combos before we got to the finished effort!

I've used my little hippos (from Clearly Besotted) - popped up on foam pads and a couple of layers of sparkle added to their tutus.  Pink heart sequin and gems from stash.

I recently bought some stencilling brushes after a bit of debate.  I had kinda wondered if they were really the big whoop that they seemed to be .... and I wish I'd bought them ages ago!!
And here I've used this fab lion from Tracey Hey Alpaca Pals.  Though it's a lesson in planning your card before you get stamping as I ran out of room for my lion and I had to post him with his tail folded back!  If I'd had any sense, I would have stamped the 'be a warrior' further down in that great big space ;)

Two sympathies and a card disaster

I've no sympathy cards left in my stash, so thought I'd get ahead and get some made.

For this first one I've used these pretty flowers from Clearly Besotted - I'm reasonably new to this brand and I must say I'm loving their stamps!
Coloured with polychromos - of course I didn't have any blues to match my sparkly card so it took quite a bit of mixing and faffing about to get it sort of the same.  I also didn't have any suitable sentiments so ended up using these old peel off gold stickers.

And this one uses my beloved LOTV stamp - I think my next challenge is to colour it something other than purple!

And I just had to share this tragedy! It was just one of those cards that didn't want to be made!  I think it all went pear shaped when I decided to make my base the same shade of green as my holly, and I only have one green ink pad which is a horrible sludgy shade. I don't know why I haven't chucked it before now as I always hate it when I use it.  Maybe it was a blessing in disguise that I dropped my ink pad on it before I had finished!  On the bright side, at least I hadn't wasted gloss and glitter and gems on it too!
