Baby Boy #2

Baby card #2 features some of my Paper Smooches stamps and Instaframe die from Die-namics cut in my Cuttlebug.  Bit of bling and some card candy and that's it really!  Frame and ellies popped up on dimensionals.
My DP looks better IRL - there's some wee yellow polka dots on the blue that don't really show up in the pic.

Baby Boy #1

I am so seriously going to have to get my stamps organised into some sort of order and start putting them back when I'm finished!  I've spent about 2 weeks casually looking for this one every time I remembered about it!  Ah well it's been found (for the moment anyway!!) and I've a need for some baby cards, so this is #1

Image is from Wild Rose Studio - coloured with Copics and some bling added to the butterflies and flowers.
Sentiment from Paper Smooches.

Hey Hunny!

I'm not a big ribbon user, but had to have this one as I thought it would be a perfect match for this oldie High Hopes image - Hunny Bear
Image coloured with pencils, clear gloss added to his nose and to the honey.
I also had a 'Bee' text stamp in my stash, so I masked off my Paper Smooches sentiment, so that I could add it.

High Hopes 'Anything Goes' challenge will be running until 5 August, so if you have a High Hopes stamp in your stash get it out ... if you're not in you can't win :)

Sparkly Bubbles

When Mr Mojo's on the missing list (as he has been for the past week!), I often find that a good CASE sometimes brings him back, so off to Splitcoast Featured Stamper I went and found this fab card by Sarah-Jane.

I used Diver Dan from High Hopes - coloured with pencils, clear gems added for the bubbles, and clear gloss added to his flippers and snorkel.  I had another go at paint splattering for my watery BG and kept it a bit more under control this time ;)
Ric Rac border die from Taylored Expressions.

Flowers for sale

This is another of the cute images from Kraftin Kimmie that I chose as part of my Mojo Monday winnings ... isn't he a cutie.  Coloured with pencils, though I'm not overly happy with his hair, I'll have to google to see how to colour hair properly with pencils.  Couple of the flowers popped up on dimensionals.  I masked off my image and splattered the sky with watercolours, but was a tad splodge-happy!!

Sketch from Mojo Monday #303 (though I've just noticed there should have been a banner hanging from the flower)

Sparkly carrots

Just a quickie post tonight ... I was out volunteering today at the World Police & Fire Games and I'm pooped ... its exhausting looking at all those hunky fire and police men ;)  Back again tomorrow and Friday ... its a hard life! Hahahaha

This little cutie is from the set that I was very lucky to win at the Mojo Monday challenge a few weeks ago - Dish the Dirt from Kraftin Kimmie.  Coloured with pencils; clear gloss added to her wellies and box; stickles added to the carrots and tomato (whadya mean you've never had glitter in your dinner LOL!)

Ruth's birthday card #2

We're still baking in the sun here, we're so not used to having temperatures every day in the mid-twenties and above, and it's horrible trying to sleep at night.  Down a few degrees would suit me just fine!  Shouldn't complain really, don't think we had any 'summer' at all last year :)

This is another card for my sister.  I'd got this stamp a while back for the intention of using it for her birthday card and very nearly forgot about it!  Coloured with copics and lots of sparkle added to the girlies' dresses, cupcakes and champagne.

Anything High Hopes!

We're going to be 'on vacation' at High Hopes for a few weeks (Ha, I wish!  Unfortunately I'll just be at Costa Del Back Garden LOL!) so its a nice long challenge running through to 5th August with the theme of ...
Anything High Hopes
So get your High Hopes stamps out and play along as many times as you like for the chance to win a new one of your choice :)

My card uses my most favourite snowman ever ... Snowy Portrait ... all I coloured here was his hat and his cheeks and the rest is paper pieced!  Sentiment also from High Hopes - Think Snow

Last card for the evening ... normal intermittent service will be resumed tomorrow when I'm back to work :(

Birthday mouse

So these are the new dies I treated myself to ... Insta-frame and Peek-a-boo dots, both of which I love!  I must say that the Die-namics dies are brill, I always get a great cut first run through my Cuttlebug.  Oh and great delivery service from Dies to Die For too :)

My old stash on this card are my image (an oldie from Whiff of Joy) and my black sparkly sentiment stickers.  It feels good to get some of this old stash used ... and eases the guilt of buying new stash LOL!!

Ruth's Birthday card

The last of my days off today, boo hoo.  Still warm but not so sunny, at least my itchy rash got a bit of a rest from the sun LOL!  Of course our chemist was closed today for the bank holiday, so I haven't been able to get my hands on some antihistamine yet :(

The postie brought me some new Dienamics dies this morning so it was a great excuse to have a play!  I won this cute little girl 'Snorkles' a while back from CC Designs so thought I'd ink it up for my sister's birthday.  I paired it with some fishy images from High Hopes - Starla Starfish and Puff Fishy.  All coloured with copics and some orange stickles added for a bit of sparkle.  And as I'm trying to use my unloved stash, out today came these dew drops which I haven't used for maybe a year or more!

Sympathy Butterflies

We're still enjoying the sunshine here, though it was definitely much cooler today than yesterday.  Though my pale Irish skin has decided to take an aversion to the sunshine and I've got a prickly heat rash all over my arms and shoulders.  Soooooo ITCHY!!!  I'm covered in calamine lotion, but it's not really helping.  Any suggestions welcome!

I don't think I've ever used this colour combo before, but I love it!  (from My Time to Craft #229 - brown and turquoise - though maybe my 'turquoise' is a bit pale?)
Whimsy butterfly dies.

Hey or Hay? ;)

It's been another glorious sunny day.  I've been a busy bee, power hosing the paving in the back garden and then I did the front drive way and weeded it too!  And in between I made this cutie ... this is version #3 - my hands were shaking after using the power hose and I made a hash of the first two!  So I'm pooped, but the beers are chillin' in the fridge and I'm looking forward to some friends coming over this eve.

Image from Penny Black.  Dots and sentiment from an old set from Practising Creativity. Coloured with copics and some wee green gems added to flower centres.

Sick doggy :(

Oooh I'm so in love with this cute doggy - Beehave from Penny Black - I think we all have days like this LOL!
Coloured with pencils and 'sky' dotted in with copic markers.
I also got my eyelets out for the first time in months and managed to punch my holes very obviously wonky - so I added some twine to distract your eyes from the wonkiness ... I think it works ?
Clear gloss and glitter added to the little bee's wings.

Smile doggy!

I'm off work for 5 whole days, yippee!  Friday and Monday are a Bank Holiday for the Twelfth so it was gonna be a nice long weekend anyway.  And the weather is still scorchio!!  Lovely as a novelty - we rarely have temps in the high 20's - but I don't think I could stick it every day for weeks upon end!

Oh apologies in advance for the blogger overload - I've lots of cards to get made for an order.

Tuesday 9 July 2013

Water, Water Everywhere!

We've a water themed challenge this week at High Hopes ... so you could have a beach theme, fish tank, raindrops, etc., just as long as you use a High Hopes stamp! Play along and you could win a new one of your choice.

I've used Summer Sail Boat - coloured with pencils and some clear gems added for a bit of sparkle.  I'd love to have been out on that wee boat today with my feet dipped in the water, its been scorchio today!  Think they were expecting some places here to hit the hottest temps for 30 years today ... and us Irish folk aren't designed for heat!!  Not that I'm complaining though, we see little enough proper sunshine here that I wouldn't dare LOL!!!

Get Well Moo!

Sorry I've been M.I.A. all week, my head cold turned into a chest infection and it kinda floored me for a few days!  But I'm on the mend now, and way behind in my card making and blogging!  I've a wee order in for a mixture of Get Well and Sympathy cards so I guess that's what you'll be seeing over the next while.
I should have sent this card to myself, Ha! ;-)

I was lucky enough to win one of the Totally Gorjuss challenges a while back and the prize was a voucher for J&C Creations, fab timing too as they've a great sale on some of their Penny Black stamps - this one is Ms Fastidious!

If you're getting happy vibes from my card, it's because our SUMMER ARRIVED!!  Sunshine and heat due all week too ... fingers and toes crossed as I'm off work from Thursday for an extra long weekend.
And of course it was fabulous to see Andy Murray finally get his hands on the Wimbledon trophy this afternoon!

Baby Girls

Just a quickie post from me tonight ... I'm absolutely loaded with the cold - not easy making cards with a tissue in one hand and your eyes streaming!  Anyway, I was asked to make a baby card for some twin girls and thought I'd get out my cute teddy stamp (from Elzybells, store now closed).  I masked off one to stamp the other - the two parachutes are 2 slightly different pinks but it doesn't show up well in pic.  Coloured with pencils and clouds chalked.

Christmas Card #09

I was full of good intentions in January that I'd make at least one Christmas card a week .... just a tad behind then as this is only No#9!!
So this week's challenge at High Hopes is perfect to gee me on as it's
Christmas in July
.. eek, how did it get to be July already!!

(play along with your High Hopes stamps to win a new one of your choice)

My card uses Getting Spruced Up and Think Snow
I've been getting very precious with my Copics (they've got to be so expensive to replace) but thought I'd treat myself for a change!  Almost wish I hadn't though as it was such a pleasure to use them LOL!
Some fine flower soft added as fur/snow.  I doodled my borders to match the font of the sentiment and added some wee stickles dots to pull in the red theme of my image.  White enamel dots for falling snow.

Other challenges:
Sparkles Forum Christmas Challenge #30 - Christmas Tree
Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Extra - July
