Happy Easter

Woops I kinda fell off radar there, can't believe I haven't posted since mid-February!! I have made a few cards but forgot to take pics, but I'm determined to do better and get back into the swing of blogging!

So here's my Easter card, just made them all the same.  Hard luck if you love that little bunny - he's an oldie from Eat Cake Graphics and no longer available.  Coloured with polychromos and clear gloss and glitter added to the egg.  Wouldn't it be fab to get an Easter egg half your size ... closest I've seen is this one from Hotel Chocolat but finances didn't permit LOL

Sweet Stamping - Easter

Snippets Playground #504 - I've lots of snippets on this card - my bunny was small enough to stamp on a wee scrap and the white flowers and sentiment were cut from the leftover bit after cutting my base to size.

And just because it's been a while, here's a pic of Molly just back from the groomers, all fresh and white and lovely. Doesn't stay that way for long!

Happy Easter

A very happy Easter to you all!  We've had the most glorious sunny spring day, and I'm delighted that the clocks moved forward today too! You definitely feel more like getting up and doing stuff when it's brighter outside!

My Easter cards were all a variation of this one, not a stamp or ounce of colouring in sight!  My cute bunny die was a purchase from Creative Depot (I think) a while back.  These were all cut with shiny silver card and then I added loads of chunky glitter to their sweet bunny tails.  The background embossing folder is from an old Simon Says Stamp kit.

I haven't shared a photo of Molly lately, so here's a silly one of her sitting on the stairs.  She perches her butt on one step and then her feet are on the one below.  Doesn't look one bit comfortable!  Daftie.

Hoppy Easter

Hi all! Such a beautiful bright sunny Spring day today!  A good day to get busy!  Both the spade and lawnmower made it out today so the garden's nice and tidy.  Poor Molly didn't escape either... dog showered, towels washed and bedding all lovely and clean too!  Definitely ready for a sit down this evening!  And as per usual, it was spent last minute making...

Easter Bunny

Hi all!  I've a couple of Easter cards to share this evening, using this cute bunny from Creative Depot.  I inked up the background, added a fancy die cut, a few metallic paint splatters, and some blue and gold sequin discs.  The bunny is popped up on foam pads, sparkle added to his bow and clear gloss to the carrot.

As you like it - freestyle or stencil background - well, it kinda depends!  If I'm layering up as I've done here, I'll use a plain-ish inked background.
Word Art Wednesday #585/586 - anything goes

I've been really struggling with my mojo  so I've been going back to basics, practising my colouring and just casing other cards.  This one was inspired from a card Simon Says Stamp had on their Facebook page (here's the link in case you want to see Yana's fab original), so I'm just sharing here to keep a record of it but not entering into any challenges..

Happy Easter!

Hi all, and a very Happy Easter to you!  It was so nice to be able to spend it with some of the family and enjoy a beautiful dinner, especially when you think of the restrictions of the last few years and awful events around the world.  It was a dark damp old day here, hopefully the weather smartens up a bit as I treated myself to the week off work.  I've a few jobs planned but we'll see how that goes 😉

So here's the Easter cards I sent, not very dissimilar to the one I made for Mum a few weeks ago.  This time I stencilled in the grass and clouds, I need to learn to be braver with my stencilling and go a bit heavier on the colour!  I think I made 7 or 8 of these so that was a lot of fussy cutting!!!

And a wee close-up of that cute bunny...

And of course there was plenty of clear gloss and glitter added!

As You Like It - floral or cute - I love my floral stamps but looking through my stamp collection I can 100% say I'm definitely in the 'cute' camp!

Guest designing for Stamping Sensations

I'm delighted to be Guest Designer over at Stamping Sensations and the theme for March is "Spring".  Hope you'll play along - there's a fab prize pack up for grabs too!

It's also the final Ruby's Memory Challenge over at Snippets Playground, so I hope you can play along there too!  When Di started this challenge back in February last year it was just over a month from when our beloved Ruby died when we were still so so sad, and it felt like a huge hug from Di and the entire crafting community.  There has been an amazing amount of prizes gifted and Di has donated a fabulous amount of ££ to the USPCA.  So a massive THANK YOU to everyone.  We now have Molly to entertain us and keep us busy, but there will never ever be another wee dog like Ruby xx. (the snippet on my card is the tab in the corner. It looked like it needed a wee something and a leftover scrap of purple was just it!)

I've used this sweet Easter set from Lil' Inker which I LOVE - the font of that sentiment just makes me happy.  That little bunny looks so pleased with himself to have a basket full of choccy eggs AND a big sparkly carrot!  This card's for my Mum, but I'm making a few other variations of it for friends and family... so that's a lot of colouring and a LOT of fussy cutting!

Last Easter bunny!

Hi all, and a Happy Easter to you!  A quiet one for us with just me and his nibs for dinner - hopefully by next Easter we'll be more sociable!   I got my 1st jab last week, next ones due beg June, so I'll be sorted in time for my birthday 😁. We've had a lovely couple of sunny spring days, I even got out to the garden today to tackle a few weeds (some of the roots must go to Australia), but snow showers due tomorrow so it will be a stay home and turn the heating on kind of day!

For this card I masked off a border (not a very straight one LOL) and inked up a swirly stencil.  Nice and easy and quick!

Bunnies!

Hi all!  Oooh it's as dark as night here and the wind has gotten up, looks like we're in for a splash of rain!  I can hardly believe that it's almost that time of year for the clocks to go forward, seems like no time since they went back!  But then every day is like Groundhog Day and they all kinda merge together, I think this entire past year I've hardly known what day it is any day!  Except the weekend, I haven't made that mistake yet LOL

Anyways, I've a few quickie Easter cards this evening...

I've used a real oldie for these - from Shirley's 2 Girls - it's at least 10 years old so it's good to give it an inking again!  Double bonus points for me for using up this DP which has been knocking round my stash for quite a while too!  I think I prefer this 2nd one with the stronger colour

Spring tulips

Evening folks, hope you're all fit and well.  I've a few days off work now for Easter, so will be closing the office (bedroom) door and trying to switch off.  I've only to check in briefly on Saturday and Sunday, and the rest of my time is my own till Wednesday.    Top of my To Do list is tackling the weeds in the garden and maybe powerhosing the drive, so hopefully the weather will co-operate.

I've spent the last few evenings in front of the telly colouring this gorgeous Penny Black stamp, it's one of my very oldest stamps and still gets inked.  It was definitely a good purchase!  My own tulips still have a bit of growing, they'll be another week or two yet.

Coloured with polychromos and clear bling added, plus a little bit of orange bling in the middle of that ribbon on the pot.  My lovely ombre DP was a recentish purchase from the Range, before the world closed down that is!

Getting ready for Easter

Evening folks, hope you're all fit and well.  Strange times we're living in, and definitely not an experience we'll be looking to have again!  I guess I'm lucky that I'm able to work from home - it's such a strange experience working away in the spare bedroom in my slippers and comfy joggers!

I've had zero mojo but figure we're in this for the long haul, so I've been making myself colour in the evenings and got down to putting some of them together today.
This first one looks so much better in real life!  These little Stamping Bella stamps are the ones I'll be using for this year's Easter cards.  Coloured with polychromos and glitter added to the lighter stripe on the egg.  The greeting is also cut in sparkly card.

And here's the same wee cutie, I think I might draw in a bit of grass or something to ground her a bit.  The dazzle at the top is a little silver heart that objected to the camera.   I've no idea where my 'Happy Easter' stamp is, so I'll be using this die cut for the time being.  Doubtless it will turn up after Easter ;)

Spring daffodils and a massive Easter egg

So that was another weekend of pretty rubbish weather courtesy of Storm Jorge, of course the sun came out this afternoon when it was too late to go anywhere!
I did manage to get a wee break in the showers to get my winter pansies and primulas deadheaded, it's good to see that spring is most definitely here.  It won't be long now till my daffs are blooming, so I thought I'd use them on one to add to my sympathy stash.

This image is from Clearly Besotted, coloured with polychromos - I'm not a massive fan of poetry but I always think of William Wordsworth's host of golden daffodils when I use this stamp!

  • Addicted to CAS #179 - symmetry (though my image isn't 100% symmetrical!)
  • As You Like It - favourite flower - I have loads of favourites but I love to see daffodils as it means the longer days and better weather (fingers crossed) are on the way
  • Penny Black and More March - spring flowers

And here's a fun Easter card using one of my new Stamping Bella images.  I've popped her up on one of these little boingy spring things ... I bought some recently after not being able to find the ones I already had, and then spent about half an hour this evening trying to find the new ones that I'd put "somewhere safe".  It drives me absolutely crazy looking for stuff!

Chocolate cake and chocolate eggs

Yummm I love chocolate cake, I reckon a birthday cake isn't a real birthday cake unless its a chocolate one ;)

This one is an oldie from Stamping Bella, their stamps are always fun to colour.  I've used my polychromo pencils and gloss/sparkle added to her crown and the jam in the cake.

Oops, cutting it fine now to get this posted in time for Easter.   This is just a wee quickie usng my Whipper Snapper chicken and some old bunny DP.

Stencilling fun

Well the weather didn't quite co-operate today so my garden escaped it's tidy up, so I hit the indoors instead!  There's a lot of chat about Mrs Hinch's cleaning tips on Instagram so I tried a few of them out and right enough, my house does smell lovely!  I do love a good tidy up and chucking out session anyway :)
I didn't quite manage to get as far as my stamp stash, that's a job for another day.

I haven't played in the Library Challenge for a while, the current book is 'The Town Mouse and the Country Mouse'.  My little mouse is an oldie from High Hopes - coloured with polychromos and popped up on foam pads.  I masked off my base and used a couple of different ink pads.  I hadn't planned on the enamel dots but those inky fingers got in the way again.

And here's my Whipper Snapper chicken again.  I always think 'ouch' when I see the size of that egg LOL
I've added plenty of bling and glitter, popped her up on foam pads and stencilled my background in pale pink.  Not sure of the make of the sentiment die - cut in shiny black card.

An Easter Chick

Happy Saturday Folks!  We'd the most beautiful sunny day here, still a tad chilly but I actually got my washing out on the line today which I love!  I'm hoping to get out to the garden tomorrow to see what's growing under the weeds, but we'll see how that goes ;)

I'm still struggling with my mojo, so it took a while for this one to come together!  I've used an oldie from Whipper Snapper and coloured with polychromo pencils.  Gummiapan flower die.  I'm sure I have a 'Happy Easter' stamp somewhere but it's nowhere to be found so I had to use this sticker instead.  If I get time tomorrow a tidy up is on the cards me thinks!

Bunnies Galore

Happy St Patrick's Day!  And what a cold cold day it's been, the odd flake or two of snow too.  Though I wasn't worried about going anywhere as we were glued to the Ireland/England rugby!!  I won't rub it in as to who won  :) but I'd say there'll be a few sore heads in the morning with the Grand Slam on top of St Patrick's Day!

I don't know anyone who sends St Patrick's Day cards in Ireland, so next batch for me is Easter.  And I reckon I'll be using my Mama Elephant bunnies for most of them!

For this one I inked up the BG and then fussy cut the bunny layer.  Gorgeous sparkly blue card for my sentiment.  Square dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs

For this one I used up some scraps of paper on my table and some of my gold glitter card; I'm not sure if these bunnies work in the circle or not.  Maybe I should have added an extra layer to the frame to make it stand out a bit.  I also added in some score lines to the blue layer to give it a wee bit of interest.  Unfortunately I don't do straight, and the ones at the bottom were waaaay off, so I moved my orange panel lower than I'd intended which left the bottom blue bit with no lines at all.

More Easter Bunnies

We're half way through April already, so it's reminder time over at Naughty or Nice.  Our theme this month is 3 of something, with an option of an Easter twist.

This card is one of those that looks so much nicer in real life!  I've used some of these bunnies from a Simon Says Stamp set.  I diecut my little bunny and then popped him up on dimensionals, and covered them all with my clear glitter pen.  Clear gloss and glitter added to the 'Daddy' bunny's tie.  My bow is a tad big, but it was from my recycled stash and it was the right colour ;)

Easter Bunnies

Here's some happy hoppy bunnies :)  These critters always make me smile:
Brewster Bunny (foot up) and
Flopsy bunny's got an egg
from Eat Cake Graphics.

Coloured with watercolour pencils and lots of sparkle added to that humongous egg! Clouds chalked in the background and a few pink splatters to finish.  No doodling added for a change ;)
Apologies for such a crappy photo, I hadn't realised it was so glary till I uploaded it.

This card is also posted over at A Sprinkling of Samples and Techniques blog, where you'll find lots more loveliness from Eat Cake Graphics

Mmmmmm Easter Eggs

Woops, I'm a bit behind myself with my DT card for Naughty or Nice!
Our theme this month is '3 of something' with an optional Easter twist.  If you'd like to play along, please link your card over on the blog, and have a look at what the other naughty girls have made while you're there.

I've used my favourite bunnies from Eat Cake Graphics:
Flopsy Bunny's got an egg
Coloured with watercolour pencils and I used the same ink as the text to colour my eggs and to add some splatters to the BG.  I went over my eggs several times with my clear sparkle pen and then added some clear gloss.

Hope you're having a great weekend.  It's a lovely sunny day here but a chilly wind, great for getting the washing dried, but I'm a bit of a woose and prefer not to have 20 layers on for a bit of gardening ;)

Happy Easter Bunny

It's time for a new sketch at Splitcoaststampers, so here's my DT card :)
Click here if you'd like to play along.

I've flipped Allison's sketch and used this cute little bunny from Eat Cake Graphics: Flopsy Bunny's got an egg

Coloured with watercolour pencils and popped up on dimensionals.  I also covered the egg with my clear glitter pen and then some clear gloss.  My button embossing folder is an oooooldie that hasn't been used in such a long time. MFT stitched circles die and I think the heart die is from Taylored Expressions.

Lost the plot ;)

Happy Easter!   I was positive I'd made enough Easter cards, posted a load, and then when I got home I was one short all of a sudden!  I knew I'd definitely made enough, so where did it go?  After a lot of hunting and searching, I've come to the conclusion that I've sent someone two cards LOL ... at this point I'll refer you to the 2nd card in this post ;)

Anyway this is most definitely the last Easter card!
As you know by now, my bunny is from Eat Cake Graphics ...
5050-F Flopsy Bunny's got an egg
Coloured with watercolour pencils, and Spectrum Noir sparkle added to the egg.  I splattered my BG with pink watercolour.  Some mini sequins from Taylored Expressions.
