Baby Ellie

Hi folks, hope you're all safe and well.  Sorry I've been MIA - I'd totally lost my mojo so thought I'd give myself a wee break from crafting and blogging.  Anyway, I'm back with this old Wild Rose Studio stamp from maybe 8 years ago or so.  Someone told me once that elephants were bad luck on baby cards, I've no idea if that's true or not but I haven't paid any heed to it anyway ;)

Coloured with polychromos.  When I coloured my green balloons I also added a hint of the pale yellow to pull the two colours together and I like how they turned out.  I hadn't planned on adding the tag at the top but the obligatory dirty mark needed hiding!

  • Layout from AAA Cards #163
  • Addicted to CAS #183 - animal
  • Retro Rubber #133 - anything goes
  • As You Like It - favourite non birthday occasion - well I love making Christmas cards but I'm not in the right mood for them, so my next favourite is baby cards.  All those cute images and soft colours, and of course that they're for a brand new baby!

Birthday doggy

Hi All!  Long time no see!  2 cards in 3 weeks must be a new low-time record for me!  I'm still struggling a bit with my shoulder, but getting plenty of attention from the NHS and am determined to plough on and get on with things.

I've pulled out a really old Wild Rose Studio stamp for this one, so old that it's got a bit delicate and it ripped a bit when I pulled it off it's backing, thankfully in a blank space so it didn't affect the stamp.
Coloured with polychromos.  Clear gloss added to his nose, and a few little gold sequins to finish.

In a CAS mood

We've had the most glorious sunny summer's day today, and I was totally self indulgent and just chillaxed all day, read my book and did a wee bit of colouring :)  I'm still in search of my Mojo, so just kept it nice and simple.

I coloured my little bunny from Purple Onion Designs with my polychromos and popped him up on foam pads.  I scored a few lines in the background and added a few little silver stars.

And here's Mum's calendar page for the month, just a tad late!
I've used this old Wild Rose Studio stamp that I bought a long time ago and I don't believe I've ever inked it up!
I was happy with how the colouring on my skirt turned out with the folds, but I've no idea how I actually managed it, bit of a happy accident that!

Birthday critters

LOL I seem to be stuck in a pink mode this past while!  So here's 2 more ;)

My birdie card uses 2 of my favourite techniques ... fussy cutting and a bit of splattering !  I've used my new Jane's doodles stamps, coloured with watercolour pencils; sparkle added to her jumper and clear gloss/glitter to the collar.  Pink heart sequins from stash.  Bird and frame both popped up on foam pads.

This doggy is another one that I'd coloured back in the summer.  Those long hot days of sunshine already seem like such a long time ago!
Image coloured with watercolour pencils; sparkle added to the ribbon and clear gloss to his nose.   MFT stitched frame die; Paper Smooches heart die popped up on foam pads.

Baby Girl cards

Phew, busy weekend!  I had a good old raid out of our cupboards upstairs, all sorted out for the charity shop and some for the dump.  It's always great to get it started, though it always looks worse before it gets better!

Anyway, I got lovely news today that my friend in work is now a Grandma!  Wasn't expected for another couple of weeks, so it was a bit of a surprise to them all!  So I spent a few hours making baby cards :)

This first one uses a never-before-used one that I found when I was looking for another - it's still lost :( but I'm sure it will turn up eventually.  This little duckie is from Suzy's Zoo - it's not an image I would have thought of using for a baby card, but I think it looks OK.
My little elephant is an oldie from Wild Rose Studio, and added some pink and blue splatters to the background - doesn't it kinda look like that exploding confetti!  I covered my balloons and little Ellies toenails with my clear glitter pen so there's lots of sparkle.

And finally, here's one for Grandma herself :)
I don't normally make 'white' based cards, but I quite like how it turned out.  My little bear is an oldie from Penny Black; text from Paper Smooches.

Baby Girl

Busy day today!  The weather is just lovely and perfect for getting the garden ready for winter.  Though it always looks a wee bit sad when everything's cut back and tidied away.

I've a few special request cards to make this weekend, so this is the first.  I've used an old Wild Rose Studio stamp - coloured with watercolour pencils.  Wink of Stella added to the lacy bits and clear gloss to the stamped butterflies and pink flowers.  Martha Stewart butterfly punch.  Sentiment from The Alley Way Stamps.

Embossed Ellie

This card was inspired by Marion's beautiful card over at the Muse Challenge.  I was rooting through my stamps to find something that would maybe go with Marion's theme when I came across this old cutie from Wild Rose Studio - coloured with watercolour pencils.

I also loved Marion's idea of embossing in the BG of the image panel - I used a super old mini Ellison Design embossing folder.  I love the finished effect, I'll definitely be using this technique again :)

Pretty in Pink

Ahhhh it's lovely NOT to be making Christmas cards, there's not even a bit of glitter on this one!  My card stash is almost non-existent, so I'm hoping to get a few more made before I go back to work on Thursday.

This one uses a stamp from Wild Rose Studio - coloured with pencils - and sentiment from The Alley Way Stamps.  Lovely new DP from Me and My Big Ideas.

Baby Lola

Ha.  Everytime I look at this card I have Lola by The Kinks going round my head - it was only recently I actually listened properly to the lyrics and followed the story of the song!

My image is from Wild Rose Studio - coloured with pencils and lots of glitter added to the pink balloons.  (I took the pic before I remembered to add in dots between the birth date numbers)

Baby Ellie

I've been asked to make an extra special baby card that is going to be framed (no pressure then!) and thought I'd have a trial run on a baby card to see if Mr Mojo is going to co-operate!

My image is from Wild Rose Studio - coloured with pencils.  My DP is from a stack maybe 4 or 5 years old that I've never managed to use and gets shoved to the back of my crafty cupboard.  But I'm determined to make a dent in it!

I've a couple of special request cards to get made this week, so this is the first.  Couldn't get a decent pic though, my blue base isn't quite as dark as it looks here.

Baby Boy #1

I am so seriously going to have to get my stamps organised into some sort of order and start putting them back when I'm finished!  I've spent about 2 weeks casually looking for this one every time I remembered about it!  Ah well it's been found (for the moment anyway!!) and I've a need for some baby cards, so this is #1

Image is from Wild Rose Studio - coloured with Copics and some bling added to the butterflies and flowers.

Baby Girl Christening Card

Just a quickie post from me tonight ... we're watching The Fall on telly - a murder story based in Belfast, and for a change not based on 'The Troubles', so no oul politics!  So far it's quite good, and it's fun trying to spot all the places we know.
This is another wee Christening card ... I haven't made a Christening card for years and now 2 in less than a month!  I've used this cute ellie from Wild Rose Studio - coloured with pencils and balloons popped up with dimensionals.  Gold peel off sentiment - I would have preferred a silver one, but this was the only one in my stash and beggars can't be choosers!!  Pink stickles added to the ellie's toes and to the flower centres.

Doggy Birthday & Wedding cards

Sunday evening already! And nearly the end of April ... wish someone would tell the weather!  We'd sunshine, heavy showers and hailstones today, so no mission of getting those weeds sorted yet!  "Drip, drip, drip, little April showers" it most definitely wasn't!

This card was inspired by Kadie's card at The Pink Elephant #196- I copied her main layout and use of washi tape, but used a different image and DPs.
Simon Says ... anything goes
Charisma Cardz #16 - polkadots
The Squirrel and The Fox #42 - furry friends

I finally got my wedding order finished this weekend.  Wouldn't fancy making them as a living, too boring making 50 the same!!  The main card was in a pocket style, the card has a lovely sparkly shimmer to it, but I've no chance of picking it up with my camera.

Baby Girl

Well we're preparing to batten down the hatches here!  There's a forecast for over 30cm of snow tomorrow ... considering we panic and come to a standstill if there's more than a couple of inches, this could be very interesting!! Mind you, our weathermen tend to be a bit excitable, so we'll see, though the wind definitely is getting a bit wild out there and it's bitterly cold.  I do hope we DON'T get another pile of snow, I've officially had enough of winter!
ETA The weather men were right!  Will share pics later if I get out at all)

I've plenty of birthday cards in my stash, but not much of anything else, so here's a wee baby girl card for you.  Coloured with my pencils, fence and scallop dies from Taylored Expressions.  Paper Smooches sentiment and Wild Rose Studio image.

Baby Boy card

Remember I said Spring was on it's way?  Well I take it all back,it's absolutely Baltic today!
Perfect for staying in with the heat on and crafty stuff on the table ;)  This is the only project I have for show'n'tell - I've spent most of the day working on Wedding invitation cards for a friend but I'll not share them till they're finished.

Lil' Baby Card

Ohhhh brrr it's such a cold evening, the wind's straight from the North Pole!  Winter is most definitely on its way!  Even Ruby put an inch to her step on our walk this evening!

I'm needing to get a move on with my cards for a Chrissy pressie. I had planned to go much more 'pastel' with my wee Ellie, but about 3 different markers decided to run out while colouring this card, so darker it had to go!  Grrr.
