I thought for ages and ages what I could make and then the sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches made me think of birthday candles. I knew I had some digital images of candles from Lili of the Valley, so all I had to do was print some out. Easypeasy. Right? WRONG!!! Every time I printed them they were too small. I must have printed them maybe 7 or 8 times - each time I'd start colouring and cutting them, only to realize they were still too small, so I'd have to go back and edit the images to make them longer. Of course I turned my laptop and printer off every time in between LOL. I think I spent 8+ hours making this, good job I don't charge by the hour!
Ah well it was good exercise climbing the stairs to the printer and it's done now and I do like how it turned out.
Snippets Playground #510 - my little stars were cut from some leftover sparkly card that I cut my numbers from
Word Art Wednesday #706/707 - anything goes
Haven't shared a pic of Miss Molly for a while, so here she is on a recent trip up the beautiful Antrim Coast road. She absolutely LOVES the beach, the more smelly seaweed on it the better!

Great card for your sister’s big birthday, Lynne. It was worth all the effort of getting the candles the right size.

What a fun card with perfectly sized candles! ;) I'm sorry it took so long to make, but it is a fabulous card! Thanks for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches this week!
Lynne, I loved reading your post. First of all, oh bless your heart! I know the feeling of starting a project then not have it turn out as planned. But 8 hours, wow! You really did a lot of work on this, and it shows. The size is perfect and the colors are great. That's so nice that your BIL asked you to make this. He, and Ruth, will love it. And I loved seeing Miss Molly in action! She's adorable! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Word Art Wednesday!
Birthday candles are a great way to use the sketch! What a fabulous and cheerful birthday card! Thanks so much for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches.
Love your tall candles! Sorry you had to redo them so many times! That would be me too. Super special bday card!! Thanks for joining us this week at FMS!
Oh I just love this fab 50th birthday card! So very clever and creative by using candles to match the sketch - love it! Thanks for joining us at FMS this week!
WOW - epic amount of time spent on this - but a GREAT result as it's a lovely card.
Thanks for coming to play in the Snippets Playground. See you up in the treehouse shortly. x
Oh WOW Lynne - what a marathon but what a fabulous card as a result! Miss Molly is adorable! I was thinking about her and sweet Ruby earlier today.
Hugs
Di xx And a cuddle for Miss Molly
Your card is perfect for an epic birthday! I'm certain your sister will love it. I guess your trips up and down the stairs can count as your workout for the day. My crafting space is in the basement of our house and I am always going up and down those stairs. I figure it's good for me!! Molly looks gorgeous with the wind in her fur.
A lovely "Special" card Lynne and just think of all the steps you managed to fit in!! Such a lovely pic of Molly xx
Beautiful! And Miss Molly too, Jo x
