High Hopes challenge #189

Our new challenge this week at High Hopes is...
make a box.
Not something I normally make, so I turned to Splitcoaststampers and tried my hand at a little milk carton box.  I'm quite pleased with how it turned out - though a decent scoring board would have made it much easier than trying to match up dimensions on my ancient wooden scoring board!  I've temporarily closed my carton with a paperclip so you can see the shape, but didn't want to seal it properly until I'd something to put in it!!

My image is Motorin' By Santa - coloured with pencils and lots of glitter added to the fur on his hat/jacket/trousers.

ETA - just found this joke that I had to share ...
What type of motorbike does Santa drive?
A Holly Davidson
Hahahahaha!  Def one for the Christmas Cracker!

October Calendar

I just noticed today that my calendar on my desk in work was still on July.  Ha!  I think I'm in denial that our lovely summer's over!

Just a quickie post, Doc Martin's on the telly, a nice wee Monday evening programme.  As opposed to Downton Abbey, usually a lovely Sunday evening programme, but a bit traumatic last night.  I won't spoil it if you haven't seen it, but O-M-G!!!!!

CAS Good Luck

I had some snippets of DP that I almost threw in the bin, but then decided to have a play instead!  I've used my new Memory Box border die and the plane is from Alley Way Stamps - I paper pieced the body of the plane, added some glitter to the propellor, and popped up on dimensionals.  I also added some glitter to the windows of the wee houses.

A Starry Monster

It usually takes me ages to make a card, but this one came together in no time at all... it's about time Mr Mojo started co-operating!!

I've used the monster from Paper Smooches 'Falling for You' - paper pieced his body and then cut out extra eyes and a tooth. The sentiment is actually a mix of 3 different stamp sets!  Die-namics Instaframe.  Couple of the die cut stars are popped up on dimensionals.   I've also jumped on the sequins bandwagon and am lovin them!

Happy World Cardmaking Day!

I squeezed a bit of time into my day to play along with the World Card Making Day.
My card uses these slightly mad looking birdies from The Alley Way stamps - paper pieced their bodies and then cut out another eye and beak and coloured it with my promarkers.  Sentiment from Paper Smooches.

CAS Get Well

This should have been a 10-minute card, except the pixies had hidden my background text stamp and it ended up taking over an hour hahaha

Based on Cindy's card over at the Muse Challenge - I used my new Memory Box die cut as the floral image and a super-old embossing folder.  Couple of touches of bling to finish.

Sorry ... quick post from me tonight - it's late already and some of us need more beauty sleep than we used to LOL

High Hopes Challenge #188

Wow, can you believe it's October already, where has this year gone?!!
Our new challenge at High Hopes this week is a sketch, perfect if you're a sketch junkie like me!
Pop over to High Hopes blog for lots of inspiration and then play along with your High Hopes stamps to win a new one of your choice.

I was a bit 'creative' with Anna's sketch ... sorry Anna!!!  For the one of the back panels I used my Memory Box snowflake die, and the other side is a couple of die cut trees (think these were Marianne designs).  My images are Snow Couple Block and Sm. Open Holly - coloured with copics and glitter added to Mrs Snowy's hat.
