New goodies

So that's Christmas over for another year!  We'd a gorgeous dinner down in Mum's with my sis and her family and had a fab time.  Of course, faced with over a week off work I've decided to take a stinker of a cold.  Typical.

Santa was a very good boy and (with a nudge in the right direction) left me some new Polychromo pencils under the tree!  Hurrah.  I've fancied having a go with these for ages but could never justify spending the £££s
It's a totally different way of colouring than I'm used to with my watercolour pencils, so I'll need plenty of practice.

This first one is an oldie from LOTV.  I definitely need to do a bit of studying on how to colour hair and folds in clothing, mines a bit rubbish!

I'm a bit happier with this Whipper Snapper stamp, but he's a lot easier to colour.  I added some sparkle to the balloon, clear gloss to his nose, a snippet of this lovely DP from MFT and a new birthday die that I bought recently from Swedish House Crafts.

And here's a wee pic of our very own Christmas Elf,  needless to say, Ruby wasn't too impressed ;)

  1. I am truly impressed with your first go at coloring with your new pencils. Those cards look pretty darn perfect to me!! I love the images and the bits of sparkle and gloss you've added. Whoever receives these will love them. Also, Ruby is the cutest little elf ever. Her outfit is adorable. Happy New Year!!!

  3. Two lovely cards Lynne - and I think your colouring is fine already! But, you will love the Polychromos pencils for sure. You may already know that but Sansodor Blending Solution is really great to use for blending the coloured in areas - it livens the colour up beautifully. I have a little clear twist cap plastic jar (came with a travel set of bottles etc I think) and I keep a little chunk of soft makeup sponge in there, kept moist with a touch of Sansodor. It lasts forever - and I use little blending stumps - the ones made by Ranger (I don't use a holder as the nibs are long enough to be honest) just to pick up the solution without soaking the stump.

    Happy New Year!
