When to call it quits!

Did you ever plough on with a card when really you should have called it quits?  This one's for a student who's been on work placement with us.  I'd only stamped the sentiment and her name - then I stamped the bottom row of flowers and when I was lifting the stamp off it fell and left a faint impression.  That was my cut off point when I should have walked away.
But oh no.
I figured I'd keep going and try to cover up the worst of it.  So on went a few sequins, and then some more.  And then the bit in the middle looked a bit bare, so on went some die cuts too.   And it's annoyed me ever since.

So I made it again!  Much the same but a bit more balanced.  And much less bling!

Prima flower stamp.  Elizabeth Craft Designs square dies..

Oh, yes, I have carried on with some cards when I would have been much further ahead had I just quit. I do love your second attempt, though. Those flowers are so pretty and so perfectly placed. I am certain Huong Giang will love it!

I have definitely continued on with cards I should have scrapped. I'm sure your student will love it! Thanks so much for playing with us at Die Cuttin Divas. Hope to see you again soon :)

Oh yes! I know exactly what you describe! Lol...that's what embellishments were created for, right? How fun! I think your card turned out beautifully, and I'm sure that Huong Giang is going to be so thrilled with your creation!

Love that you shared both versions with us. I totally know what you mean about those "walk away from the card" moments. Love your second version. Thanks for entering your card in our "Make You Mark" challenge on the Addicted to Stamps and More Challenge.

I know just what you mean about the 'walk away' point! I think your first card is pretty, but as you say the second is much more balanced! The colours on both are so pretty!
