Think pink

Hi all!  Popping by this evening with a quickie post, Peaky Blinders is just coming on TV, it's a tad violent and half times I haven't a clue what's going on, but I love it!

I've had my Simon Says Stamp snowmen out again and paired it with this swanky DP from (I think) MFT.

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday - anything goes

Pupdate...

We'd a wee skiff of snow this week. Miss Molly hadn't a clue what to make of it!  She sat at our back door for ages just gruffing at the strange rain.  Daftie.

Get well Daffodils

Hi all!  Its another wild evening out there and it's blowing a hooley, this time it's Storm Franklin to blame.  We took Molly out for a quick dander earlier but by the time we turned for home the sleet was battering us and we were soaked by the time we got in.  Definitely a night for PJs and the heat on!

Anyway, I have a wee get well card to share, using an oldie LOTV stamp - love that bunny!   My daffodils in the garden have their heads up and won't be long till they unfurl, hopefully this wind tonight won't floor them!

Birthday foliage

Hi all, popping in this evening with a wee simple card, can't say it was quick though as I excel at faffing!!  I've been on a wee shopping trip to France (would have been even nicer in real life LOL) and bought this pretty little cover plate and stamps from Simply Graphic. I also caved in for a set of tags dies, but they're for another day.

I flipped the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches #523

Seize the Birthday #233 - dichromatic (not a word I've ever heard before!). I went with pink and green.

Watercolour Wednesday #335 - it's their last challenge so had to play along

Allsorts #663 - CAS with option of elegance

We're battening down the hatches here this evening for Storm Eunice due later.  It's all quiet at the minute though, there's barely even a rustle in the trees, you definitely wouldn't think there was a storm on the way!

Greg's Valentine

Hi all! Popping by tonight with Greg's Valentine, I'm ahead of the game for a change!  I've used my Penny Black stamp again - I added gloss to all the balloons bar one and when they'd dried I glossed up the last and dropped in lots of glitter.  I used my hearts die (from MFT I think) as a stencil to make the background and some of the wee offcuts as embellishments.

Colourful snow family

Hi all!  I'm sticking to my resolution to keep up with my Christmas cards, so I've a quickie post this evening to share this wee snow family using the Simon Says Stamp January kit, which I absolutely LOVE!  The embossing folder is also from the kit.

Layout from CAS Colours & Sketches #456, though I just noticed I got the sketch wrong in my head and the littlest snowman should have been in the centre instead of at the end

Another nautical card and Alexandra's birthday

Evening all!  I've had my watercolour pencils out today, but used them for my backgrounds and my polychromos for the images.
I must be in a nautical mode as this is the 3rd in a row!  I watercoloured my background and added a few little stamped fishies.  My boat is from penny Black and the DP from a Simon Says Stamp kit; the little stitched dies from Simply Graphic.  I added clear gloss to the pink strips on the boat and glitter to the thinnest strip, and a few yellow gems to finish.

Snippets Playground #421 - my 'snip' on this one is my brown strip - I didn't have a piece long enough so my band is actually just 2 separate pieces
Your Next Stamp #177 - plaid
Seize the Birthday #231 - sparkle and shine

And this one is for my niece's 12th birthday, again using a Penny Black stamp - and she actually does look like her LOL!  She's a Valentine's Day baby so I usually try to add a little heart in it somewhere if I remember.  My background for this one was inspired by Cecile's tutorial over at Simply Graphic.  I got a bit carried away with my pencil shavings, but I think it kinda ended up looking like a party background and I love it!  I'm not entering this into any challenges as a lot of the inspiration for this came from Birgit's card, but I wanted to keep a record of what I'd sent Alex!

Its been a cold, wild, windy, showery type of day, but we managed to get out for a quick walk with Molly between the showers. The gorse hedges are in full bloom, spring is definitely on its way!!

David's Birthday card

Hi all!  Last minute make here again, this time for my brother.  And I can definitely say it turned out nothing like I'd imagined it would!  My kitchen was a scene of devastation after it too, when I finished I looked round me and laughed! So here's the card that originally inspired me... this beautiful make by Mags and I thought I'd have a go at that yin and yang look!

I masked off half my card and heat embossed it using a wave stencil and then inked up the negative space ... should have inked it beforehand instead of afterwards of course.  For the other half I just inked the stencil with no embossing.  in my head it looked a lot more striking!  But I then did my usual stunt of covering it all up anyway!! You'd think it would be a lesson on planning out your card better. But I never seem to learn!  If I had planned it I would have had my fishies slightly higher up so I had proper room for my sentiment, in fact I'd probably have moved the big skinny fish to the bottom and moved my greeting up. Ah well, it's the thought that counts LOL

I think the little fish and the circles dies are from Simply Graphic and the sentiment from MFT.
