Cards for Alex and Aunt Mavis

 Just a quickie post tonight, his nibs has a movie lined up ... I think it's a scary one so I guess I'll only be half watching it!

I seem to be stuck in green & yellow mode at the minute, must be a subconscious yearning for spring!  We'd a wee skiff of snow this morning, it's melted already but it's blowing a gale out there, definitely not outdoors weather!

This first card is for my niece, a wee Valentine's Day baby.  She's a big fan of hippos so I had to include this Gerda Steiner one on her card.

A new challenge in memory of Rubydoo!

 Today is a very special day!  My good buddy Di is starting a new challenge today in memory of our much missed wee Ruby, what a lovely thing for her to do!

For mine I've used this oldie from Eat Cake Graphics.  I had just enough green DP leftover to cut my hearts and the orange scrap was just perfect for what I needed 😊

Another weightlifter

 

Uurgh it feels like it's been raining solid for days here, I see from the weather app it's due to dry up on Saturday afternoon so I'm looking forward to that!!  Mind you I'd rather have rain than snow, so it's not all bad ;)

I've had a wee request in for another weightlifter card, not sure why the colours are odd in my photo - that orange card is actually red in real life.  I used my sunburst stencil for the background, added clear gloss to his weights, some splatters and some googly eyes.  I dug out a really old embossing folder as the swirls reminded me of his curly 'tache.

The beard craze of the past few years seems to be leading to more moustaches on show!  I saw a guy recently with one just like this, all curled to perfection and little round Harry Potter glasses ... And yes, he did look silly 🤣

 Evening Folks!  That was a brrrrr chilly weekend, though it was nice to get out to the garden today to get the leaves swept up and a bit of a tidy.  The daffs are starting to peep and I see the hydrangeas budding too, so spring is on the way :)   It was the Big Garden Birdwatch this weekend too, so the birdies got extra grub and a clean bath, but there were definitely fewer about than previous years, maybe they were just cosied up in their nests. 

I have a male theme for my cards this evening.  This one's for my brother - he likes to keep fit and has his own set of weights, so I thought this little MFT weightlifting kittie (?) would be perfect.  I would have popped him up on a wobble thing, but they only turned up the instant I stuck him down - they've been on the missing list for months so I'm delighted to have found them.

Helloooooo!

 Hi all!  Sorry I've been off radar again, I had zero mojo most of last year and even less recently after Rubydoo died.  I'd like to say thank you to everyone who sent kind words of sympathy, and especially to Di at Pixie's Crafty Workshop who's going to be running an occasional challenge in Ruby's memory!  We are still very sad, I never realised how big a part she played in our lives until she wasn't there any more.  We are planning on getting another wee dog but will probably have to wait until this lockdown has passed ... whenever that will be!

So I've spent the last few weeks stripping, sanding and painting my kitchen cupboards and then the walls needed doing, couldn't quite face painting the ceiling though so just don't look up!!  Order has finally been restored and I have my kitchen table back so I've given myself a good talking too and need to get back to crafting as I've a few orders waiting.  Hope to get for a visit to all my bloggy buddies soon to see what you've all been up to!   My cards this evening aren't the cheeriest though!....

This MFT stamp takes me an age to colour, I reckon it was well over an hour so it's definitely one to do while watching telly!

My Clearly Besotted daffodils only really get used this time of year, though they're not peeping up in the garden yet!  Bonus points for using some green card that's maybe been in my stash for about 10 years!

Merry Christmas!

 

Hi all, just swinging by to wish you all a very happy and peaceful Christmas

It's definitely one with a difference this year!  We're  lucky that mum will be coming to us for Christmas dinner and then we have a 6 week lockdown to look forward to.  But we've been through this since March and we'll get through this too!

On a very sad note, wee Ruby died this week.  She hasn't been well this past month and went very downhill at the weekend and then died on Tuesday.  So we are heartbroken and quite a few years have been shed.  She will be sorely missed.

A sad Christmas card

I've been putting this card off for ages, I just couldn't think what to make!  I was so stuck that I almost bought one from Tesco except their non-happy Christmas selection was totally non existent.  

Apologies for the dark picture, it's a pale blue background in real life - I've a new phone and haven't quite figured out how to put the flash on.  New technology and me take a while to get on together 😉 I do envy those folk who can lift a gadget and instinctively know what they're doing!

Anyway, back to regular Christmas card making now ... I was getting ahead of the game at the start of the year and then Covid stole my mojo and now I'm really behind in everything!
